St. Paul’s Rice

February 18, 2008

Rrroberto submitted a wonderful recipe call St. Paul’s Rice. He also gets bonus points for being the only one to scan the original recipe from 1990!

This dish came out real well! It was easy, tasted great, and I had a lot of leftovers! Here is how the price broke down…

Sausage $2.50

Onion $0.26 (I think the guy at Kroger rang it up wrong, it should have been 1 onion for $0.88)

Celery $1.29

Rice $1.00

Bell Pepper $1.29

Soup Mix $1.39

Total Cost $7.73

I was very pleased with the whole recipe and the price was great. It had been a very long time since I have cut up a Bell Pepper. I stared at it for a couple minutes trying to remember how to cut it up. When everything was chopped I added it to my pan…

Next was preparing the Chicken Noodle Soup. This made me a little nervious. It called for five cups of water. The back of the packet only called for ¾ cup. I got even more worried when it looked like this…

But then it started boiling and all my doubts were gone…

I added it to my casserole dish and started getting excited…

Here it is baking…

Finally the finished product!

I highly recommend this dish. It is going to last me for days! Thanks again Rrroberto!
